Meet your 2010/2011 Chicago Blackhawks Forwards

Each day I'm going to start breaking down the positions and start talking about the key players to those positions. I'm going to start with the forwards and basically go by the lines and dissect the lines and the players on the lines.

The Toews line shouldn't be any new surprises with this line at all. With Jonathan centering the line and Patrick Kane on the right wing and most likely Troy Brouwer on the left wing. Everyone knows that coach Quenneville likes to shake up the line combinations occasionally and you might see Bryan Bickell up on this line time to time also. With the confidence running sky high still from the Championship we should see the Toews line grow some more, and be a bigger offensive force in the upcoming season.

With the second line there is actually a debate on who will center this line, Dave Bolland or Patrick Sharp either way this line can still be something to strike fear into opposing teams defenses. If  Bolland centers look for Sharp to be the left wing and Marian Hossa to be on the right wing. If Q goes with Sharp in the middle look for Hossa on the right and possibly Tomas Kopeacky or Victor Stalberg to be on the left. Either way look for Hossa to have an outstanding year he had 51 points in 57 games last season and could easily get to 100 points next season. Sharp had 66 points in 82 games and I wouldn't expect anything less from the Sharp shooter this season.

Jordan Hendry and Vicktor Stalberg
The third line will be centered by Dave Bolland if he is not centering the second, and this is where you start seeing the changes. If Bolland is not centering this line you will most likely see Ryan Potulny centering this line with Jack Skille on the right wing and either Viktor Stalberg or Tomas Kopeacky  on the left wing. My guess is that we will see Bolland centering this line with Skille and Stalberg on the wings. If Skille lives up to his first round expectations don't expect this line to be any slumps in the scoring department either. Skille, Bolland , and Stalberg can score at anytime (we need to come up with a cleaver line name for them) and this line actually has speed and size.

The fourth line will be anchored by Jake Dowell and will have former Ice Hogs teammate Bryan Bickell on his left wing. Fernando Pisani when healthy should be on the right wing when not healthy should see either Ryan Potulny or a Rockford call up to take the spot of Pisani. Don't forget that the huge beast John Scott can also play wing so you'll see nights of him on the fourth line playing wing. This fourth line should be fine with what they are going to be asked to do like check, stir the pot, and occasionally score a goal or 2. The fourth line will be a revolving door all season so don't be surprised when you see changes here.

Kyle Beach
Some outside shots to make the roster this season are Kyle Beach, Rob Klinkhammer, Marcus Kruger, Igor Makarov, and Jeff Taffe. Everyone with the Kyle Beach boner pay attention and watch some of these guys trying to make a splash in the preseason and to try to make the opening day roster. If Beach actually plays smart he has a shot, and Klinkhammer just has one of the sweetest last name on the back of a sweater I've seen in a while. If any of these guys just play out of their minds they have a shot but they really need to show what they can do to make the squad.
